How to Properly “Winterize” Your Apartment

Cold weather and snow will be here much sooner than we expect!  Read these tips in order to be a step ahead of the cold weather.

• Close storm windows
• Install curtains/open curtains during the day
• Keep doors to unused rooms closed
• Cover any gaps in doors
• Insulate outlets and switches
• Check your heating system BEFORE the temperature drops
• Use an at-home window insulation kit
• Make sure heat sources are open and not blocked
• Use the ceiling fan (if you have one)—running fans in reverse pushes warm air downward rather than making cool air!
• Break out your cozy winter comforter
• Run a vaporizer
